Concept

Drawing from the San Antonio vernacular and the structures immediate site, the structures volumes reflect the materials and colors of the surrounding landscape to respect the past of the area. The space  contains a café and bookstore that can double as a cultural landmark in the community due to its inherent flexibility due to rooftop terraces, an outdoor auditorium, and various meeting rooms that let the space be used for art, architecture, dance, sculpture, music, etc..

Experience | Program

The bookstore can be separated from the rest of the structure by the use of a large folding glass door on both levels making it available after hours for other events. utilizing the strength of steel, piers and i-beams allow the space to be completely open and free of vertical elements leading to a more spacious and grand space.
