Passage through the structure reveals a deep interconnection between the built environment and the natural landscape. As one passes from beginning to end, a transformation from within the earth to a full emergence from it revealed and recognized. Emerging from the woods you enter a large tunnel that preceds into a large open field with a path leading to the summit overlooking the park beyond, the structure utilizes the forces of nature through thermal massing, wind currents, water reservoirs, and passive cooling. Furthermore, the use of hills and fields allows a versatile and unique experience as visitors can sit along and on it and enjoy the park.
